What made you apply to Media-Saturn for a job?
During my studies, I saw a job advertisement for the 18-month Finance & Administration trainee program. The fact that Media-Saturn is company that’s successful on an international scale and the prospect of a future management position were the main reasons for my application.
You now hold a management-level position. What exact path did your career follow?
After completing the trainee program, I was made project manager with responsibility for a cross-departmental project. Once the project had been completed and following my honeymoon in the summer of 2006, I was offered the position of personal assistant to the CEO. During my three years as PA, I gained great insight into the decision-making processes at the company and was able to contribute to helping prepare these decisions in my day-to-day work. I have been responsible for risk management at the German subsidiary since March 2010.
How would you describe what it means to work for Media-Saturn?
Based on my experience, I can say that at Media-Saturn you are given responsibility faster that would normally be the case. This is what we are known for, and it gives employees a high degree of motivation.
Aside from your job, what do you like about living in Ingolstadt?
As a father, I’m well able to appreciate the advantages that Ingolstadt has to offer. In the city, numerous cafés and beer gardens provide the perfect place to relax, and the surrounding area also has a high recreational value. In addition to the countryside and the mountains, there are two major cities, Nuremberg and Munich, close by that offer countless possibilities. Because Italy’s not that far away, a short trip there doesn’t pose a problem.
