What made you choose Media-Saturn?
I abandoned my first degree course, which would have led to a career as an upper-grade civil servant, after the fourth semester - it was just too rigid and inflexible for me. Instead, I wanted to work for an international company that would allow me to be creative and innovative, find out what my limitations are and learn to push beyond them. Purely by chance I heard about the International Retail Management course from one of my fellow colleagues at that time - it was the perfect opportunity for me.
Why do you like working for Media-Saturn?
Because all doors are open to us. And that’s not just an empty promise: at Media-Saturn, you have the opportunity to acquire a wide range of knowledge and then you are given the opportunity to apply this knowledge in a variety of ways. You assume responsibility for the decisions you make, including any consequences. The retail sector is in a state of constant flux - and every day is a new challenge. I also find the unique corporate culture fascinating: the freedom to take the initiative and the permission to make mistakes; everybody helps each other and everyone pulls together. The manager of my store is both my role model and my mentor - he’s doing a great job.
What do you think everyone should know about Media-Saturn?
Media-Saturn is a unique approach to life. Once you have it, you’ll never lose it.
What electronic device drives you crazy?
My USB stick - or rather the fact that there’s no way to recover all your data at a reasonable price if the stick is damaged. I lost data again just recently. And although everyone knows that you should make regular backup copies, you often just simply forget.
