What made you choose Media-Saturn?
I decided on Media-Saturn long before I started my trainee program. I did a dual program of studies in cooperation with Media-Saturn. After three years of experience in various departments, I knew that I wanted to continue my career at Media-Saturn. I looked to see what job openings there were and discovered the International Procurement trainee program - one of the departments I worked in during my studies. It was a department I really liked and I could imagine turning the work involved into my profession. I also found the opportunity to work in an international environment very attractive.
What exciting projects have you been involved in so far at Media-Saturn?
At the moment, I’m in France, near Paris. The largest Saturn store in France will be opening here at the end of October. As a trainee, it’s a great opportunity to experience the opening of a new store and see what activities and processes are involved. I’m helping my colleagues with things like conditions for sale/acquisition and supplier communications and can look over their shoulders while they work on a number of other things. That’s the way it is here. We’re allowed to make a contribution and lend a hand, which means we get a good idea of everything to do with procurement. “Learning by doing” is the name of the game.
What do you think everyone should know about Media-Saturn?
The fact that people just starting out on their careers, and who don’t have as much job and life experience as other colleagues, are given the chance to assume responsibility, work independently and contribute ideas of their own. At Media-Saturn, a lot is expected from you but you are also given a tremendous amount of help and support.
What electronic device drives you crazy?
My digital scales - regardless of how accurate they’re supposed to be, I don’t really trust them.
