Do you offer dual programs of study?
Yes. The Media-Saturn Group offers dual programs of study in International Retail Management and Business Information Technology. You will find more information on these courses under the heading “Students”. Our German subsidiary Media-Saturn Verwaltung Deutschland also offers degree courses in business administration, with emphasis on trade and commerce, at a number of different cities in Germany. You will find more detailed information on the Media Markt and Saturn websites.
What are the prerequisites for the programs of studies at the University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt?
You will require a general university entrance qualification (or at least an advanced technical college entrance qualification) and an internship contract with the Media-Saturn Group. Please apply to us for an internship. International applicants must have their university entrance qualification accredited by the accreditation office in Bavaria (Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle für den Freistaat Bayern). Depending on the program of study involved, you must also be proficient in either German or English, as appropriate to the course you have selected. Non-native speakers must provide proof that they have passed a German or English-language proficiency test (as appropriate), e.g. TestDaF or TOEFL.
How are the programs of study structured at the University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt?
The programs of study are very practice oriented. In addition to courses at the University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt, practical work experience is gained between semesters at Media Markt and Saturn stores in Germany or at the company’s foreign subsidiaries and at Media-Saturn-Holding, depending on the course involved. The programs of study comprise six semesters of theoretical courses and one semester of work experience.
Do I receive any kind of financial support during my studies?
Yes, financial support is provided to all students participating in our dual programs of study. You will find more detailed information under the heading “Students”, under the description of the respective program of study.
When does the semester start at the University of Applied Sciences in Ingolstadt, and when can I apply for the programs of study?
The programs of study at the University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt start in the winter semester, on 1 October of each year. Applications for the German-language International Retail Management course must be received by the end of December of the previous year. Applications for the English-language International Retail Management course must be received by the end of March of the same year. The Business Information Technology course at the University of Cooperative Education Heidenheim also starts on 1 October. Applications for this course must be received by the end of December of the previous year.
What is the difference between the two International Retail Management programs of study (German/English)?
The German-language program of study in International Retail Management is intended to cultivate new talent who will manage business operations at our Media Markt and Saturn stores throughout Germany. This course is taught entirely in German. The English-language program of study in International Retail Management is intended to enhance new talent for strategic and/or business operations at our foreign subsidiaries and at Media-Saturn-Holding. This course is taught entirely in English.
